With the development of Chinese economy, more and more overseas-funded enterprise will set up offices in China. That’s mean a lot of foreigners will work in China. So it is very necessary for these people to know some Chinese language in office. It is will be very helpful when you are working with Chinese client or Chinese colleague in business. Now, we will learn some very useful office vocabularies and sentences.

1. Name of Each Department

总公司 zǒnɡ ɡōnɡ sī (Head Office)
wǒ men de zǒnɡ ɡōnɡ sī zài bā lí.我们的总公司在巴黎。
(Our head office located in Paris.)

分公司 fēn ɡōnɡ sī (Branch Office)
wǒ men yǒu sān ɡè fēn ɡōnɡ sī.我们的总公司在巴黎。
(We have three branches.)

部门 bù mén (Department)
Nǐ zài shén me bù mén ɡōnɡ zuò? 你在什么部门工作?
(What department do you work for?)

rén lì zīyuán bù 人力资源部 Human Resources Department
Cáiwù bù 财务部 General Accounting Department
Shìchǎnɡ bù 市场部       Marketing Department
Shēnɡchǎn bù 生产部 Production Department
Cǎiɡòu bù 采购部 Purchase Department
ɡuǎnɡɡào bù 广告部    Advertising Department
ɡōnɡchénɡ xiànɡmù bù 工程项目部  Engineering & Project Department

2. Titles in Office

老板 lǎo bǎn (Boss)
Wǒ shì lǎobǎn. 我是老板。
(I am the boss.)

zǒnɡ cái 总裁 President
fù zǒnɡ cái 副总裁 Vice President
zǒnɡ jīnɡ lǐ 总经理       General Manager
jīnɡlǐ 经理 Manager
xiāo shòu yuán 销售员 Salesman
ɡōnɡ chénɡ shī 工程师    Engineer
mì shū 秘书  Secretary
zhù lǐ 助理  Assistant

3. Ask for Help in Office

qǐnɡ bānɡ wǒ dǎyìn yíxià zhèfèn wénjiàn.
请帮我打印一下这份文件。
(Please help me print this document.)

Qǐnɡ ɡěi wǒ yì bēi shuǐ.
请给我一杯水。
(please give a cup of water.)

Tā bānɡ wǒ mǎi le yí ɡè xīn de bēi zi.
他帮我买了一个新的杯子。
(He help me buy a new glass.)

dǎ yìn wén jiàn 打印文件 To print document
fù yìn hé tonɡ 复印合同 To copy contact
fā yóu jiàn 发邮件      To send e-mail
xiū diàn nǎo 修电脑 To repair PC
dǎ diàn huà 打电话 To make a call

4. Useful Chinese sentences in office

Qǐnɡ wèn, yǒu shén me ké yǐ bānɡ nín?
请问, 有什么可以帮您?(May i ask what can i do for you ?)

Ké yǐ jiè wǒ yì zhī bǐ mɑ?
可以借我一支笔吗?(Could you borrow me a pen?)

Wǒ kéyǐ wèn nǐ yíɡè wèntí mɑ?
我可以问你一个问题吗?(Can i ask you a question ?)

Nǐ zuò de fēichánɡ hǎo!
你做得非常好! (You did a good job!)

Nǐ jīntiān kànqǐlái hěn búcuò!
你今天看起来很不错!(You look great today.)
