1. shēnɡ huó bì xū pǐn yì bān dōu hěn pián yi 。

生活 必需 品一般都很便宜。

( Necessary things are usually very cheap.)

2.Nǐ zhīdào HSK kǎoshì bìxū yào zuò xiē shénme zhǔnbèi ma?

bì xū         bì xū

必须 VS 必需

These two words are same pronunciation, but have different meanings.

Number 1“bì xū”is an adverb used as an adverbial before verbs or verbal phrases , and it means “must”or “have to”.

Number 2“bì xū”is a verb or adjective that can plus objects, and it means “necessary” or “ indispensable”.

For example:

1. shuǐ shì wǒ men rì chánɡ shēnɡ huó bì xū de 。

水是我们日常生活必需的。

( Water is necessary in our daily life.)

2. wǒ men bì xū měi tiān hē shuǐ 。

我们必须每天喝水。

( We have to drink water everyday.)
